I'm 16 and this was the first song I heard Whitney sing. I was 6 and even in my generation she was the greatest singer I've ever heard. She's in a category all her own.

I grew up listening to Whitney Houston. When "Saving All My Love For You" came out in 1985 I was 17 years old and in high school. I had a girlfriend who bought me the .45 rpm single for my birthday that year, and every time I listen to the song I instantly go back in my mind to the summer of 1985. Whitney was part of the soundtrack of my youth, and I deeply regret her passing today. She was way too young! Fame and money are not easy to handle, and they can overwhelm anyone.
